Two or You?
The trouble many marriages run into, is the mindset of ‘me’ or ‘you’ (singular) not TWO (plural) numerically. While its easy to make a decision concerning your time or talents, often that personal decision for self, has a bearing on your mate. Undiscussed time schedules for one, ofter causes frustration for the other. It’s because ‘you’ was going ahead with life without comprehending that now, there are ‘two’ to think and plan for.
The plurality of living life together, is much easier to live when manners are practiced and considerations are made for the other person. There are two…. two work schedules, 2 bodies to feed, dos thought processes, deux interests, due ideas, zwei moods, twee thought processes, due points of view, to minds, du hearts. Both are needed in the beautiful dance of marriage. I have used different ways of spelling two because this applies to every marriage no matter where one lives on planet earth!
Learning how to plan for two, clean for two, life life as two, is a life long process that will mature. Two schedules, two healthcare's to manage, and two opinions about all sorts of things certainly takes time mentally to accept! It rubs off the selfish edges of each husband and wife, as the developed couple emerges as one in unity in the end. This was God’s plan to help us get over our own selfish ways!
Ephesians 5:3
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother ad shall be joined unto his wife and they two shall be one flesh.
Practice thinking as TWO instead of just self …… there is a place in life that can be reached, where ONE becomes who you both are.
