Proverbs 31: 18
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
The Proverbs 31 woman is doing the Worthy work of caring for her family, husband care, child care, HomeCare, her business care.
So what does it mean to perceiveth? ETH means to ‘keep on’
So she perceive - eth. She keeps on perceiving!
1. She perceive-th that her merchandise is good.
perceiv-eth ( her life experiences, awareness, understanding continues to teach her)
She is discerning, uses her brain, analyzes, thinks things out, a planner, organizer, she has an angle on everything and she has become an expert in her fields of work. Like raising roses.... it takes time, effort and attention to details, but roses can be in your garden!
Can others tell when your inner wheels are turning? Is there a light that comes on in your eyes?
New ideas pop in your mind…… inspiration…… enthusiasm comes and you are off and running for a new project!
Are you perceiving? Her merchandise is good; she finds great comfort and good success in her labours. She intuitively knows what she is doing is worthwhile and good.
She has a great work ethic.
She takes pride in her work
She respects her own work!
She understands her work is good!
She pays attention to the details of her work…. she knows it is good!
Why? She did her best! Not meaningless, not unimportant work... it’s GOOD! Her time and effort goes into making, buying, growing, designing, creating, building, gathering, sowing….
2. Her candle goeth not out by night;
I’m sure this successful women is taking care of details at night too, but the bigger picture here is......
The candle is putting out light into darkness it serves as a lamp the lamp of understanding....
She has put her mind to her duties, studied it, researched, read different opinions, watched videos, she’s busy mentally preparing for what she’s going to tackle next.
Her mind is constantly learning ..... that lamp is putting light into her affairs of business. Illumination is happening!
Scripture says ‘Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto to my pathway.’ The word of God illuminates our day by day steps. How? By just following His leadership day by day. The same is true here.....
This candle is speaking of getting a clear idea of what to do in the fog of darkness.

The night of misunderstanding or ‘I don’t know how to do something’ it could mean ignorance or false information about an issue, how to handle a challenge, the darkness of ‘I don’t know what's next’.
She studies to shine light into a dark place in her own mind. She learns...... in the dark and shines light into her own life!
My friend.... I speak this verse over you
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
You CAN be good at what you do…..
You WILL become a wise mother and a loving wife….
You ARE enough for your family…..
You will take pride in what you are doing…. even this day!
Your merchandise is good…. the work of your hands is valuable!
YOU perceiveth that YOUR merchandise is good: YOUR candle goeth not out by night!
