She's my Mother

I've been so busy entertaining that I have not had time to update .... a couple more days and things should get back to normal.  Just trying to enjoy every moment I can with my mother. 

Precious time together....

No one else calls me 'gayla darlin.... or my sweet little girl.... or honnnneeeey'.

I'm enjoying her as much as I can while the clock rushes round and round! Cooking her favorite foods, taking her shopping, and watching over her and trying to spoil her while I have her with me.  My mom ... my friend..... Joyce Latta. One of God's 'angelic ' ladies on earth. 

Family Forever

My sweet sister in law Lisa... we had a great time being together.

My awesome brother Alan and my sister in law Yvette - the proud parents of Summer - the darling bride in the family.

My nephew Zane who is a incredible singer!  He entertains us all for a little while.

Cousins had fun... this is Marvin and Lisa's son Ben and our prize Angela

Father's and sons had lot's of time for conversations... our Sean and father in law.... The Bishop.

I guess it was the closest thing to a family reunion our family has had... we all are constantly working, traveling, preaching, singing, praying, and sharing the gospel.  It's a rare event when all the members of a family are business owners or in the ministry - to try to schedule family time together.  We are all leaders in different fields and I am proud of each one!

Thank you Summer Joy... Your wedding no one was going to miss!  We all had a wonderful time!

My family.. The one and only Missionaries Sam and Joyce Latta and us four 'kids'  in birth order. Alan, Gayla, Marvin and Regan!!  Love you all more than words can say.

I love this song!  It's a day by day prayer for me... order my steps dear Lord! Pastor Alan Latta (my brother) and Generations Church sang this song on sunday.  It was so inspiring.... just listen and let your own heart join in with this praise.

Most of us were able to eat a special lunch together ... Alan and Yvette you are such great hosts... love you family!!

My Own ......

It is a rare occasion that I get to be with my mother for fun...

O with my beautiful daughter just chillin ....

And my sweetheart Gdaughter who brings me joy by just appearing...

We all enjoyed some relaxing time without actually 'doing something or going somewhere or being' someone'!  

The morning of the wedding was a special time for us for sure!!! To be surrounded by my mother... my daughter... my granddaughter has to be one of life's greatest treasures to me. 

To my friends... don't let anything stop you from being family.  MAKE it happen. There may be differences in opinions, lives all lived in different ways.... still family remains family. Pursue your family... stick together... learn to make it work.  Life is short and one never knows how long we have to live. So live life large.... celebrate and value each other.  Did you know that it's usually women that make a family stay together? 

 

Summer and Paul's Wedding

We have been looking forward to Summer's wedding for a long time... and when she got married it was the most romantic, gorgeous and meaningful wedding of ALL!  We are all proud for her... she got an incredible guy! Congratulations to Summer and Paul!!

 

Their reception was held at the Modern Art Musium in Fort Worth.... so awesome!!

Friends that go WAY BACK!

It takes lots of effort to clear schedules and plan time to be with friends and Pastors who all have such crazy schedules.  We planned this day for a little quality time together....

We were able to have lunch and spend some quiet time with some dear friends Bishop and Eloise Herrin and Pastors Mary and Charles Combs.

We have some great memories of time spent together down through the years... it was good for all of us!! Love to each one of you!

The Pastor's Wife

Reading a book each month is something I do to educate and inspire myself to grow mentally.  Sometimes the books chosen are about leadership, or the different roles women play in life.  This was my book for January... if you are a pastor's wife, a minister's wife, an evangelist's wife, a missionary's wife  this book is one for your personal library. 

It's the story of a Pastor's wife in Romania (I've traveled to some of the towns and villages she talks about so it made an extra impact on me)  This book is her incredible story of imprisonment and survival during years of persecution in communist prisons for underground Christian activities.

It's one of my treasure books... if you are serious about the Gospel....go get a copy on Amazon!

Happy Valentines Day!

Of all the places we have been around the world....

And all the fun and wild things we have done together...

I really don't care where we are in the world as long as we are together... it's Valentines Day for me! You still take my breath away!  36 years and more my heart belongs to you... my love, my Man, The Bishop Gregory Holley!!!!!

From God's Point of View

Me (in a tizzy) : God, can I ask you something?

GOD: Sure.

Me: Promise you won't get mad?

GOD: I promise.

... Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?

GOD: What do you mean?

Me: Well I woke up late,

GOD: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start,

GOD: Okay....

Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait.

GOD: Hmmmm..

Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call

GOD: All right

Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to
soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work.
Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?

GOD: Well let me see..... the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.

Me (humbled): Oh...

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road

Me (ashamed): ............

GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed): Oh.....

GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me (softly): I see God

GOD: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I'm sorry God.

GOD: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.........in all things, the
good and the bad.

Me: I WILL trust you God.

GOD: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.

GOD: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I love looking after my children.
