DC 'A New You' 2011 Camp Shots!

LIT's (Leaders in Training) really had a great time.... so good to see them together, happy and making memories that will last a lifetime!

DC Prayer Culture

What a wonderful night at Prayer Culture!  Peter Birchfield the son of Tommy and Racheal Birchfield started a prayer service for young people that has a very special anointing on it.  He is humble and quiet and unassuming yet I watched Heaven fall on hundreds of young people as he prayed! 

This service was not 'pumped up'  but rather began with a simple worship song that Peter and his brother led.  In that song the teenagers opened their hearts and Peter walked straight in with God's word in prayer.  I LOVED this service!  Here are some pictures that tell the story of our own youth group and how God touched each one of them!  I saw hundreds of teens praying in tongues and hundreds more were filled with the Holy Ghost as these Spirit filled teens laid hands on them!

Thank you Tommy and Rachael Birchfield for releasing your own children into ministry.  They will carry your anointing far and wide and only eternity will reveal what all transpired across this world as a result of Prayer Culture!!

The New You - Theme of DC2011

The booming bass throbs and the sound waves crash into me like stabbing pressures inside my chest!  It's so loud with the shouts of young people screaming at the top of their lungs.  But it's what they are saying that moves me.  JESUS I NEED YOU..... GOD HELP ME LIVE RIGHT....JESUS SAVE ME....LORD I SURRENDER....I WORSHIP YOU....  These words spoken from the depths of their souls is as a river of voices that washes over these 1500+ teenagers.

Tears run down my face as I see our own young people moved in His Anointing.  It's..... awesome.  Every parent  MUST MAKE THE SACRIFICES in their families to pay for their teen to attend one of these youth camps.  It's worth taking your lunch to work, saving and scrimping, and going without personally so you can gather the funds to send your own teen here. Moms and Dads that know the power of their own child following God's plan .....also know the importance of the safety of spiritual retreats and the lure of the world to tempt them away from God's destiny.   Fore every dollar it costs to send them, pay for their stay and food.... IT'S THE BEST INVESTMENT YOU CAN EVER DO FOR YOUR CHILD.

DC Camp 2011

I am at Discovery Camp this week with our Leaders in Training.  And what's my impression?

I walked in to the first place at mealtime.  Talk about culture shock or was it vulture shock!  The room was filled with around 500 teens milling around,(we are in the purple group-first group to eat)  very very loud music playing, huge video screens playing some sort of jagged videos that I have no idea what they were about.  Some kids looked very rough, others like normal teens.  Some desperate for attention, others trying to hide from anyone looking at them.  But most kids looked so happy to be in the melee of mashed looks, tired jeans and punked hairstyles.  They stare right back at me, aggressive and bold. (have I entered the ghetto?) Chains and shaved heads, pink hair and wild make up..... teens from every level and economic background all together for the same goal. All sent from their churches and families from  across America to seek after God.  They are a little mean looking, a tough image for sure!

Yet I am amazed that when church started these kids were completely engrossed in the worship. That same bold confidence was in raised hands, dancing feet, intensely involved hearts and closed eyes.  I wish that the church world would become this wild in their worship and love for God.  It was abandonment worship at decibel's that made them lose their selves in the powerful words and worship of God.     

The loud music jangled my nerves, but it invigorated them.  They were singing all the words to the songs I have never heard before.  All were dancing, all were joyfilled, a happy forceful mass of the next generation of christians.

At first I thought.... 'God help the church!!'  Then I thought.... 'no wait..... they will need this aggressive boldness.  This is  'in your face' christianity to face what is headed for them if God tarries'.  This is a generation of warriors slowly growing up in our midst.  And I am proud to see them scream.... shout....dance...yell...may they scare the devil to death!!!

Hell beware ......this is a generation you have not encountered before. They are passionate and in time will develop the authority and anointing of God's plan for them.  

So I am letting the river of the young  sweep me up this week.  I am proud of our kids...learning to enjoy new things in life...

The Power of Still

When I have been overwhelmed my Father always woos me to come away and be with Him.  To stay at His side away from everybody else in my life. And as I set with Him slowly..... slowly He calms my spirit down and I slowly relax from the tense stress.  He holds my hand and calmly listens to my heart and mind.  And when I am completely at peace.... He speaks to my heart and tells me wisdom that I so need.  Sometimes it's comforting, sometimes its knowledge, sometimes its direction.  But He ALWAYS comforts me in this quiet place. There have been times when life has become more than I could bear and I have spent all night long surrounded by His arms in the secret place.

So in your warfare - plan a space to be alone with Him.  Go somewhere away from your home and church and family.  So you can't be disturbed.  Your place at the feet of Jesus can only be found alone. No ministry friends can do this for you.... only you and your Lord.  If your thoughts are too scattered listen to some quiet worship worship, but only long enough to get still inside.  There can be no other voice but God's in this place with you. He's waiting on you in the eye of the storm.  He's all you need.

Sit still, my daughter! Just sit calmly still!

Nor deem these days--these waiting days--as ill!

The One who loves thee best, who plans thy way,

I can promise you this..... when you come out from your secret place with the Most High, you will be stronger.   The battle may not be over, but you CAN BE OVER THE BATTLE.  Be still my friend.

A REAL tree....

This is an actual tree that was cut down and carried out to our african village of Fassama- look how long it is!  This is my little brother Regan who stood and watched as a 5 year old child.  I remember the cowboy boots as hearing mother talk about about how hot they were on his little feet, but a preventive way to keep him safe from possible deadly snake bites.

The trees in Liberia were untouched then..... I wonder if they are still tall and lovely now. Or has the modern world ruined these  awesome beauties on earth.

13 Reasons the devil does NOT want you to go to church!

13. You will leave the service an overcomer.... thus defeating him to start the week with!

1911-2011.... where are we?

************ ********* *********** One hundred years ago.... till now! What a difference a century makes!  Here are some statistics for the Year 1911: ************ ********* ************ The average life expectancy for men was 47 years. Fuel for this car was sold in drug stores only.  Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub. Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone. There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads. The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.   The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower ! The average US wage in 1910 was 22 cents per hour. The average US worker made between $200 and $400 per year .. A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,  A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year. More than 95 percent of all births took place at home . Ninety percent of all Doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION! Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press AND the government as "substandard." Sugar cost four cents a pound. Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen. Coffee was fifteen cents a pound. Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo. Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.   The Five leading causes of death were: 1. Pneumonia and influenza  2. Tuberculosis  3. Diarrhea  4. Heart disease  5. Stroke The American flag had 45 stars... The population of Las Vegas , Nevada , was only 30!!! Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet.   There was neither a Mother's Day nor a Father's Day. Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write and only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.   Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores.   Back then pharmacists said, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, Regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health!"  ( Shocking! )   Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help .... There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE U.S.A. !  Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.
