Letter to God

Dear God,

Thank you for your protection every day and night in 2010.   I can only pray that what we have done in the nations will bear a harvest when we stand before You. I need you and wish this was somehow all done and we were home with you in Heaven. 

But I know that is not possible lest our lives be incomplete in our assignments.  So we carry on… somehow in the darkening reality of time here in the world.

Be with me Lord Jesus in 2011... here I am.... I am yours...

I have often been encouraged by others to share personal success ideas for living a rewarding life.  This year I have decided to share my own Life Questions that have helped me to focus  yearly.   Take these questions and ponder them for a little while then write your  own answers for 2011.

My Favorite Book of 2010

What is the best book I have read this year?  It was rich... rewarding... I learned a lot from the failures of people in it's pages...and found secrets to life hidden....they dawned on me slowly.  It was riveting and a reminder of whats real and whats not in this world. I found passages within it's chapters that I kept rereading through the year. I have to tell you that it just seemed to resonate inside me.

What is it's name?  Can you guess?  It has 66 books and covers the beginning of time and the end of time.

It's the Bible.... read it this year... it does a body good!

Look close...

Look closely at this picture..... I don't know if you can see them... but there are two figures slightly below the sun above the wing of this plane.  I took this picture just as the plane was beginning to land in Haiti. I can't believe they actually came through the camera...

Just little assurances from above when entering dangerous areas....never alone... traveling mercies are always sent to me. That's why I'm not afraid to travel for Him.

3 months in women's ministry in Minnesota...

Moving out of our home - our entire belongings are in storage now.... beginning the remodeling of our downsized life and home. All in 10 days....(was just too busy to take any pictures of that whirlwind)

 
Back to Mexico taking care of missions there ...

Finding a new balance in Role Models of America,  and being so very proud to see the teams now full grown and working under my daughters leadership.  Awesome and  learning how to let go....

Back in Haiti (a trip by myself this time)

Christmas with my family.... my daughter did most of the work.  Very different but wonderful for me.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday.... 35 years together! We are still in love and love to be together!

LIfe has been very full.. Each one of these pictures represents a whole LOT of events and joys.  Cannot squeeze another drop out of 2010 (I think) there are 3 more days to do... we'll see.  I thank God for His many miracles and special care over us this year. 

How's your life been?  Mine has been filled to the brim this year...

 

 

 

Our Family Christmas Chapel

In our personal Chapel we celebrate Christmas every year as a family in a private service of reading the account of Jesus' birth in the Bible.  It's always such a special time together to receive communion, sing a little and everyone testifies  - including the children.  And renew our hearts again to the Lord of our mission He has called us to. 

Now our children's child is reading the ancient text to us... oh so special to hear his voice sweet and clear read the Word to all of us.

Oopsie Paninis

Just discovered these....  delish low carb sandwiches!! Thanks Lighter Side!

4 eggs, separated
4 ounces cream cheese
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1 packet stevia


Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Grease jelly roll pan, or line with parchment paper or silpat.

With a mixer, whip egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. In another mixing bowl, mix yolks with cream cheese and Splenda until just blended. Carefully fold yolk mixture into the whites.

Pour into prepared jelly roll pan. Bake until springy and dry, about 30 minutes.

Cut Oopsie "bread" into 16 pieces.  Carbs?  only .6 grams each!!

We will be having these before the week is out! 

Little Drummer Boy....

Helping my grandson to learn compassion for hurting people is so easy as he has a tender heart already.  When I came home from Haiti, he hugged me and said, 'how are the children?"  When I set down with him and show him all of my pictures it's going to make an impact on his heart. 

I know God has plans for my boy.... it's already drumming in his heart day by day.  When I think of the little children that I held in Haiti just 5 days ago and look at my own, bridging the gap between blessing and burdens is  my responsibility to help him learn. Just looking into their eyes shows the worlds of difference.
