This weekend was full of interesting parts. Some good, some great, and some heartbreaking.
A birthday visit to Bath Junkie, which is a place that helps you create lotions, soaps and creams. Great fun for the three of us to do on birthday number 6, for grand daughter, mother and MiMi.
There is a planning session for RMA's coming Fall Festival. Some really great things are going to happen. This is Pastor Angela's first huge event, and she has every detail covered. Sometimes as a Mom you don't realize just how much your daughter is learning as life's flow happens. But today I am proud of her, she has this event lined out. Her notebook is full of various teams and responsibilities. We have been working on this event for a while and now it's getting close. More about this later in the week.
It takes time and effort to put together a big event. I don't even to tweak this.... she is ready.
Rhonda and I are proud of our daughters and watching God work in their lives. Mine is a pastor's wife, and hers is in Bible School - home on weekends to work here with us. Together we are seeing God's plans unfold in New Life.
A special thanks to the staff for creating this little stock room just for the cafe's use. Now it's my job to get it organized and useful today.
All cafe staff work together and our team work gets this done quickly.
It's done and time is running..... on to the next issue today.
Community Bible College gets some of my time today, as emails go out for the Instructors and the Students exams. This subject is huge, and every soul important here. Everyday my hands touch letters, and do printing needs for them.
Later in the day is a sweet baby shower for Jessica and Lang. Their baby boy is due soon and we enjoy sharing her special day!
Isn't this the cutiest baby cake you have every seen? Lang (the chef) had made all kinds of goodies for the shower, but I must say....'this takes the cake!'
Take my list of names to call for Sunday services, make some in the morning and some in the afternoon and some on the drive home!
Unload some food on my list into the Family Client Services Food Pantry. Make a mental note to pick up some more this week.
Now that the Cafe has their own stock room, it takes just a little time for me to get the "back stock room' lined out. This make life easier for the staff, the cafe, the rentals, and life in general around here when things are in the right places. Gotta go from this location to RMA store now.
Yes things are in order here. I am so thankful for a great staff here! Their efforts and work are so deligent and faithful. It would be impossible for me to handle without their heartfelt work. Every family that comes here - feels our love and many many remarks are made about what a wonderful store this is.
Now to check on my project with the CS girls. They are making fall pumpkins out of paper mache for me. It's coming along... there are now 3 sizes building up.
Somebody gave us about 100 beat up bowls - and it was just the base I have been lookinf for to do this little project. More about this later as it unfolds.
Opps... don't leave yet, someone just dropped this off. So it's back inside the store to tell the staff. Sadly people will steal anything that is not brought in quickly. So a few more minutes are needed to get CS to gather everything up and bring inside. Darling baby girl clothes are valuable and we sure don't want the greedy to steal instead of providing for the needy!
Get in the car.... and the phone rings with some terrible news. There has been a sudden death of a 21 year old beautiful girl. Shocking news that breaks my heart for the family. It's a loss of words to try to say anything, it's so sudden. Sadness creeps into car as tears fall, and my racing thoughts and concerns for the family unfold. The only thing I can do right now is pray....
Don't forget the shirts for various choir members..... in my haste..... and shock I did. So it's phone calls on the road to get this detail covered so tomorrow morning all is in order.
Sunday morning.... the Bishop is preaching on Faith and it was wonderful. The needs of our congregation soak in the Word and comfort our hearts. I prayed in the altar with a 10 year old boy who gave his heart to Jesus with tears dripping down his face. Again my tears fall, but this time it's with tender joy.
In the afternoon.... we meet with the family for a private meeting and put our arms around them and weep together. God is faithful and will help I know. The arrangements begin...
Later walking through Walmart for supplies, watching people passing me by... my thoughts are on the fragile lives that each one has. No one knows the length of days they might have.... are we spending each day carefully.... every hour wisely?
I pray my actions, words, and decisions make a difference in the lives of all around me. God help me to make every hour count. As a Pastor's wife, this is my prayer and hope.
