Malta!

Shopping in Malta - while the men are in meetings dealing with charity works in the nations.
I told you I love this place - and as the Bishop's wife, I have the privilege of showing guests around today. If you love history - you will love Malta!

  Today is our only day to look around, so we must make the hours count.  It's cold and clear here - but there are lots of  shoppers and we join them in threading our way through the old streets.

 

 

Certain things I want them to see, so it's walk briskly - to make sure we get it all in. This Church was built by the Queen with her own money. Wouldn't it be wonderful to build a church for God with just your own funds?  I admire her for that. A Role Model for sure!

 

This little cafe has the BEST hot chocolate here, so I want them to visit this beautiful place.  It's all gold and marble and carvings and paintings.  Just my kind of place. They loved it - I knew they would.

And look at this view ....the surroundings are so special all around us - and more importantly  I am blessed to be with these special ladies. A famous singers wife, a world traveler lawyer, and a King's wife.  Now this is a group that could change the world!

 

Can you imagine this street is original and how people used to travel?  It's so tiny - but so authentic! 

 

And at the end of the day, we enjoyed a late night Turkish dinner back at the Hotel.  It's been a full day - and I am ready for bed! Tomorrow is a big day!

First Stop London

Setting down for a little tram ride between huge terminals - it's easy to get lost in this gigantic place if we had not been through here many times.  Changing from Terminal 5 to Terminal 4 takes 30 minutes!

Sights I have enjoyed

Of all the places we have traveled and seen in this world, there are some that are so memorable that they are unforgettable. My eyes have seen some wonderful sights!

 

 

 

 

 

Oh there are so many pictures that I could show you of the wonders of seeing the world.  I can't help but think ..... For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever would believe on Him WOULD NOT PERISH BUT WOULD HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE! John 3:16

Oh  and here is the wonderful part...... next verse. 

..... For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it - but that the world would be saved through Him.  

Did you ever stop to think that God loves this place and all of his creations within it?  Don't ever think God hates this world - John 3:16 is the proof that He loves the world He made.

A Prophetic Action for Hundreds of Years Later.......

Today we are flying half way around the world - making a couple stops - but we will end up in Malta.  It's one of the countries that I personally feel is so special.  It's historically filled with fantastic objects and artifacts that date back to St Paul.  It also is a very important island in history connected to the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem - or sometimes known as The Knights of Malta. 

Here is a thought that bodes study:
The Apostle Paul was shipwrecked on this Island and when they all got to land, they started a fire and a snake - a viper came out of the fire and bit Paul.  He shook it off in the fire and the natives of the island were convinced he was special because nothing happened to Paul.  He didn't get sick and die.

I believe this was not only to show the natives a miracle and to give Paul the way to witness to them.  But I believe this experience was also prophetic!  Because generations down the road would see a unbelievable battle take place right there on the same shores.  This is where Christianity stopped the surge.

What to pack in one tiny suitcase!

Packing for a 12 day trip in 3 countries, for 3 different parts of our ministry - includes receptions, a grand gala, a Investiture in a Castle, trips to the Canal, countless meetings and business acquaintances, and Church services.  Hopefully I can squeeze in  writing  the last 3 lessons in my Proverbs 31 Study and Guide, always and of course meet some new friends. Oh yes keep filling in articles and pictures on my new project - not telling you just yet because I know you will jump to go see it.  So I will keep it under wraps a few more days!  

All this activity has to be packed into 2 suitcases and 2 carry ons - uh that's for both of us!  He gets one and I get one.  This has to  include  my husband's  Tuxedo's and my Ball Gown.  His Bishops' Robes and my Dame Cape.  So careful planning has to go in to what we each wear everyday!! Without looking the same for 12 days!!

It's after midnight and we are done packing and we are off in the morning.
To a staff meeting - and maybe one more video shoot before we sail off to the Airport and rush to our seats! Bye!    

24 hours left in the USA

Today is my packing day - we fly out tomorrow for Europe so I am in work mode lining up details for us to be gone from home base for a while.

Many different events for us while we are gone - I'll be sure to tell you all about them as I am able to get on-line.  We will be in several countries so I will have to be flexible about when and where I can post.

Traveling European  style sometimes means old world - so while I love old buildings and history - sometimes the Internet is not high on their lists of priorities for guests in hotels.  So we will see.....

One of the places we will be is Malta - my all time favorite historical place to visit!  It's an amazing small island full of the past.  But to get there takes 2 flights - so we will jump aboard British Airways for a 8 hour flight, and then another one on to Malta.  We will arrive there Wednesday for a full schedule of meetings and humanitarian goals to reach in the world.

So pray for us to accomplish all that is in His plans for us to do.  We want our lives to count in making a difference in the world!

 

   

A day of video shoots

Practice practice practice...... we are working on an online project for Role Models International and I am prompted over and over to get it just right.

No your eyes are closed too long try again! Not loud enough try again.  Note the vocal inflections and make each word count.  Look to the right but not at the cue cards.  Smile at me but not too happy.  Watch your step and don't wrinkle the backdrop. 

Ok ..... when you walk out, you need to walk over 6 more inches to get exactly where we want you to be. But don't look at the floor, just be natural..... 

Woo hoo I got it right.  Now my part is done and the invisible web masters that no one ever sees -  take over and mix and match and coordinate everything to work together.  And this video will be done and I will walk out onto a screen as if right on a page!

 

"Uhhhhh you are not done yet, please just change  and come back, we have 4 other sections to video today". 

So the next cue cards go up and I am concentrating  to get my words, actions, looks and heart all perfectly done at the same time.     

A special thanks today goes to everyone who is working so hard on this project.  Without each of you this would not be happening!  And I think of the hundreds of thousands of little hungry children that will be fed as a result, and I feel the weight of this undertaking and ask for God's divine help for each of us.  

The African Trail

I am going through some pictures of our journeys around the globe and thought you might enjoy this picture.  This is us with two of the world's great missionaries - Bug and Nona Freeman.  We are walking on an african trail going to a church service in the veld in South Africa.  My Dad - Sam Latta is behind Bug Freeman.  My husband is carrying our daughter Angela who was about a year old at the time. 

What was I thinking - heels in the bush country! 

We loved our friends the Freeman's and will always hold them in high regards - they always supported us and encouraged us to follow God's direction for our lives.  For that I will always be indebted to them!

Smile!

I woke up with such a joy in my heart, it was overflowing!  I felt like I was in a blanket of laughter and peace!  The joy in the Holy Spirit is a true place of blessing!  It makes you want to smile and give hugs and dance and laugh and enjoy living to the fullest! 

Are you having a grey day?  Is life not good for you?  Remember all those clouds above your head in the sky - have not taken the sun away at all!  It's still there shining as brightly as ever.  It's just the clouds are in the way - and clouds move and dissipate so easily - just the wind itself can move them out. Or the temperature change will formulate them into new patterns of cyclical behaviors.  Don't look long at your clouds - they are so very temporary and not worth your focus. The promises of God are still there, like the sun, simply hidden behind your set of 24 hour  circumstances.

I called someone to check on them and they were down and grumpy and negative about their life.  It's sad that we so often cause our own heartaches with our decisions and words.  So today I counsel you my friend........ here are three things to do to help your spirit.

1. Stop making impulsive choices without thinking first about how this could affect your life down the road.  Your past decisions are now creating the clouds?

2. Stop complaining...... your words are framing your own future - you are making the storms that keep coming your way!

3. Go to your prayer room and stay until the Holy Spirit baptizes you with a fresh anointing of peace, joy and righteousness!
