Our daughter's birthday is coming March 1st. This will be her 27th birthday - and I want this birthday to be special and unique as she is. God gave us the most precious and wonderful daughter, who has always made us proud of her. Her name Angela Joy - which means Angel of Joy truly describes her. Her personality and giftedness is carried in the heart of a woman who sincerely loves God. I am so very proud of her and all she does. I birthed her in Zimbabwe Africa, right after the civil war was won - and she brought us so much joy from the very day when she was born.
So this year I am making her a birthday gift no one in the world will be able to copy it's truly one of a kind, as unique as she is. It is going to be made of jewelry pieces to represent just how precious she is to her Dad and I. I have been working on this gift for 4 months now. And today it is complete and ready for her birthday.
I started with a blue wooden picture frame with a broad frame around it. And over several years, yes years...... I have been gathering countless brooches, earrings, pendants all sparkling and special, knowing one day I would have enough to make this for her. And I glued each one on one by one, a little at a time.
Let them dry then fit some more on it. Putting bigger pieces on the corners and little ones all fill in between.
All colors and shades, all designs and types to add interest. Golds, reds, blues, pearls, and rhinestones, are all mixed in with antique pieces and contemporary pieces too.
Then after a couple of months when everything is carefully glued into place I purchased some glitter paint for filling in the edges.
This took time, but slowly I filled in every tiny nook and cranny of all the jewelry pieces. And once a side was filled in, it had to dry for a time. So back into my craft desk it would go to wait a while longer.
Here it is, all covered and not dry yet with the first coat. It's starting to take shape. I have had so much fun making this and thinking of her. She is going to be surprised! And when the paint all is done and everything is dry, it's full of sparkle and shine!
With all my love to our daughter - Happy Birthday! May it always delight your eyes and remind you how much your mother and father love and adore you!
It's a precious gift for a precious daughter.
Happy Birthday Darling Daughter!
Thank you so much for your timei know it is so precious as is the frame to me.
