Valentines Day is a busy day for MiMi! Mom has two big events happening so she can't go to the kids school Valentines Parties - so I get to have the honor! Only one problem - the parties are at 9:15 and the other one is at 10:15 and the schools are 15 minutes apart. So it's a fast juggle to enjoy both grand children and see that their special treats get to school on time.
Baby Girl is first and she is already in place when I get there. Her eyes light up and she breaks out into a huge smile when she sees me.
She takes her treats and little cards from me, ready to give them out to all her friends.
At this age, this is a really big deal and she is very engrossed in making sure each little child gets her Valentine.
Oh what fun. She tells me - after everybody gets their Valentines we are going to party! I laughed with her at her excitement.
She was proud of the little cookies her mom made for her party. Oh the joy of being a child again! And enjoying the simple things of life.
Then it's a race to get to 'big boy school' as he calls it - to get to his party in time. I walk in, he is already eating and when he sees me he is thrilled!
Gifts from him to his teacher, and from her to him. A heart shaped brownie he can't wait to taste.
Unloading his box of treats and cards for his classmates, he is so excited to give everyone something. And look...... I wrote their names on their cards MiMi!
The classroom brims over with happy voices and cards, presents, food, laughter and before we know it, it's time to go home.
Why does time have to go so fast MiMi? We were having so much fun!
And the special time gets forever locked in our memories of a wonderful Valentines Day.
The love of a child is a priceless gift and I will treasure this day with my two angels forever.
