Arrangements begin

Many phone calls are racing across our lives..... emails rush through minute by minute.  Bishop please help Haiti...... texting from across America.... count me in.... I will help you. Shipping lines crisscross over our ministry, and the costs are checked and double checked.  40ft containers and 20ft containers details, all information is gathered and decisions are quickly settled.

Moms Against Hunger will reach out.... stretch out....give all that we can  for the suffering nation of Haiti.

Largest Hospital in Haiti

There are so many needs here it is astronomical to think about.  We are working overtime to see what Moms Against Hunger can do to help.  No time to write..... please pray!  The girl on this video breaks my heart - I don't know how she is still alive when I saw the back of her head!!

The older children are fed next....

African children gather and wait patiently to receive their packets.  One never hears complaining from them, they simply stand quietly and wait.  Patience is a virtue African children have, as life makes them wait for everything it seems.

 

As you can see by how they are dressed, they must dress in layers here as it's chillly.  If they have no coat or jacket, a child must wear what they have, often shirts on top of shirts.

 

This group of children from another village all are intensely interested in what we are giving to them.  What we cannot see from looking at this picture, are the many many families they represent from their village.  The elderly... the sick.... the many deaths these children have seen from AIDS.  The looks on their faces tell many heartaches.  Moms Against Hunger will bring them hope with each packet they receive.

Look at the serious look on this little child's face.  The lines are  concerning on this baby's face. Highly unusual to see so much swelling.... my heart goes out to this child.  My love is in his little hands....in the form of nutritious food and gifts of care.

Such serious looks.... they handle their gifts with reverent respect....Moms Against Hunger will lift the heavy burdens of children as much as we can.  No child should have to suffer for the lack of their basic needs being met.

 

'Hold on to this and take it home with you'.... his little hands grip tightly his care package and he will be sure to carefully hold it.  No African child will drop, or forget, or get distracted enough to leave his or her packet somewhere. The value to human life is too important.  A hungry child suffers pangs day and night and hunger is paramount to assuage somehow.  

 

To receive food AND items of loving care such as lotion, soap, shoes, clothing, and toys is an incredible  gift of enormous value to all children and their parents.

Mothers and Babies are fed first

The first ones that will be receiving food are nursing mothers with little ones. 

 

This mother is given enough food for 24 meals.... with water she will make this stretch as far as she can. Look at her expression.... it's fierce.  she has been doing everything in her power to keep her children fed.  The strong survive.

 

Waiting quietly in line, eyes lowered she hopes and prays that she gets the same amount as the women in front of her.  'Please don't run out before I get some for my baby'

 

The leaders will give packets to each  mom.  God please make  this food  multiply.

 

The pastor watches carefully from the background.  Look at the grass fence - this nutritious food is  being given to the people  in an African village. It's packed with vitamins and minerals, protein and vegetables that are so needed.

Moms Against Hunger - out in the field

The rejoicing!  The thankfulness!  The gratitude!  With anticipation distribution begins and people began to gather.

 

Pat Bismark - the pastor's wife from Bulawayo starts showing the African women how to cook the food.

 

Speaking some Shona, some Indbele, Moms Against Hunger makes an impact in the countryside of Zimbabwe.  Oh..... how I wish I was standing there with these two!

 

Pastors discuss the best way to get the food to the many people in their villages back home.

 

Notice the Bible in the young man's hand, standing there with the responsibility of actually feeding the people - they all understand the grave serious situation of getting the food safely and quickly to the masses. This is a commodity that gangs would kill for - hungry people do desperate things.

Moms Against Hunger - Zimbabwe Food Distribution Begins

I have such fabulous news to bring to you today!  The Moms Against Hunger Shipment to Zimbabwe arrived and is being passed out all during this Christmas season.  There are many pictures to share with you!  Lots of tears.... and joy is in my heart today as the sights open up through the internet showing glimpses of what is happening there with the precious shipment of food.

 

 

My heart is overflowing just knowing,  that along with my partners..... we have men and women, boys and girls and babies that will have nutritional food to eat  RIGHT NOW.  

Thank you partners, now you will see what your offerings have done for the lives of thousands of other people in need. Your financial gift has made this possible.

 

This shipment was packed with love, sacrifice and prayer at our warehouse.  By your help we shipped it.. and now the hands unloading this... are receiving it with excitement, knowing that YOU  cared enough to do something about their need. Thank you partners.

The Boy without a Voice

Prayer was offered for anyone who wanted to be prayed for at the Christmas Backpack Giveaway.  And an amazing miracle happened.....

A foster mom taking care of a young boy came forward for prayer with him.  Telling that this boy had not spoken since he witnessed the death of his father at a younger age.  Apparently the father had died in his little boys arms, and the child had never spoken a word since.  The shock of this terrible loss literally took his voice away. And being moved from foster parents to different ones often, has taken it's toll on him, and his lack of speech became compounded with many issues.  Silence became his world and he withdrew emotionally from everyone.

Right out on the parking lot, hands were laid on this boy and prayer was given over him. And the person praying for him began to command him to say 'yes'.  I was standing in the back of the crowd... and we all heard this boy began to shout the word 'yes'.  Over and over!!!She then started commanding him to say 'Jesus' .... he did! 

It was only afterwords that hearing the complete story that the miracle became apparent as to what had happened. 

We captured a tiny part of this miracle on video - not knowing what was happening.  It will be posted shortly.... 

God is real... a Christmas miracle for a boy who has lost his family due to violence..... now has a voice again.

 

The Backpack Christmas Giveaway

The joy of Christmas is having the ability to share good things with those less fortunate. 

 

Moms Against Hunger was ask to provide for Christmas for an apartment complex that suffers from 78% Aids, as well as drug addiction, gang violence and all sorts of crime. Single moms who live here are trapped by poverty, poor education and the cycle of circumstances beyond their control. 

 

A small team from NL went with me into this apartment complex. Pastor Matthew had a team there ready to help... he brought tables, bright happy music and chairs.  They also served a lunch to everyone who came.

 

Pink backpacks for girls and Red/Black ones for the boys.  Each one had books, a Bible, and toys/stuffed animals inside. Along with Moms Against Hunger food each backpack was filled with love and prayer and given out to each child.

 

 

 

If I could have hugged each woman and talked with each one I would have!!

The eyes of single moms says it all..... their gratitude was touching.

 

Matthew Bismark the coordinator of this event, wants an interview to talk about Moms Against Hunger and our vision for nutritional food for the needy.

 

And we interviewed a couple of men who were watching all that was happening from the sideline.  They were curious as to why we would bring food to THIS area. Hard eyes watched us walk the entire complex praying for every family who lives here. No one touched us, but we touched all of them.  To God be the Glory.

 

Pastor Chris, is the minister in this area who will reap the harvest from the acts of kindness done today. More later....
