Dinner was late one night as we had a real treat planned by our kids. Dinner at a Medieval Castle!
The massive front doors were carved and covered in copper plate.
Inside were tall coats of armor around the Foyer. We were given 'king's crowns' to wear - ours were all of the Black and White Knights.
This place is right down my alley!!!! Here is the menu being served tonight.
And here are the dishes at each place setting. Notice no silverware. All the guests have to eat with their hands!!!
And a beautiful commemorative booklet describing each Knight. We just so happened to be granted the Black and White Knight - His history being the Christian Knight who served! How appropriate for all of us!
With great excitement each section began cheering for their Knight - so it's very loud and boisterous right off the bat.
The story line is about a Prince of a Kingdom being captured, and how the King goes after him, and the beautiful princess that awaits him back at the castle.
The music is intense and wonderful, the lights and sound is overwhelming and the story keeps the crowd going in high gear! Everybody is involved in their Knight being the one to save the Prince! And I am loving every minute of this!!!
The applause for our Knight is thunderous - it seems our section is filled with zealots and high energy for sure.
The Knights all file in together to plan their battle.
The King comes in to roaring voices and the call to arms is made. The Prince of the Kingdom will be saved and his Princess relieved.
Our grandson is transfixed and never took his eyes off the scenes passing by him. I can tell he is focused and enthralled.
A net comes down between the warring Knights and the audience - this is the real thing! With snorting and rearing horses, crying shouts and flashing swords, the Knights accost the enemy. And sword fights are done with such force that sparks fly amidst the dust and sweating men and animals. Blades are dropped and Lances are really broken. Men fall from their horses and it's general melee happening!
And in the end..... the King's son is saved with the last bit of strength from a Knight. Everybody is happy. My Grandson is thrilled because the Knights won. My Grand daughter is thrilled because the Princess is saved. And my imagination is going at high speed - I have alot to process mentally from this grand experience.
Thanks to Angela and Sean for finding and booking us a wonderful 'Knight' we will all remember from this vacation.
