Okay the countdown has started and my lists are growing daily. We have had guests with us daily from relief workers working in Hurricane Ike recovery efforts - to ministry friends getting supplies for churches, orphanages and missions. My darling husband is exhausted but somehow keeps trucking! I must focus on 5 areas today to get things completed and off my mind.
Yesterday we said good by to precious Mike who has been here since Sept working tirelessly bringing help and hope to thousands. He is going home for Christmas and we packed him full with provisions for his own family as a thank you from the Gulf coast.
And then dear friends of ours who we were able to help tremendously with their new building project with supplies and fixtures - saving them roughly $20,000. We rejoice with them for provisions God has sent to them through us. (I'll show you pictures later) They headed off with a full truck and trailer bulging at the seams.
Ok...... now here's what I need to focus on today.
1. Completion of Kidtricitydetails for their Christmas party and rehearsal coming up this weekend. The plans of our Education Director and Children's Pastor - the preps for gifts for the teachers and the children. They are putting together gift bags full of surprises and now need to find more space to hold them till Saturday. Hmmmmmm.
2. Carpets cleaned at the church - still from Hurricane Ike issues! I need to go investigate my self to see if they did get all the water marks out. Hopefully tomorrow my own carpet can be cleaned from the storm damage done in our home.
3. The One Pot Showdown is tonight - I need to make my chili for the contest! Check on the Gym plans for set ups with Pastor Sean and Angela, check on the special singers lined up already.
4. RMA stuffed toys giveaway project we are doing this week. Make sure we still have plenty for all of our shoppers. ( yesterday there were still tribes and flocks, packs and gaggles of bears, dogs, Sesame Street, birds, Disney characters, lambs, angels.... you name it)
5. Coach cleaning and start packing it for our big Christmas Mystery Trip with our kids. 10 days on the road - woo hoo looking forward to that!!
Last night was dress rehearsal for my new Christmas Drama called, Extravagant Presenceand I am settled we are ready. Nothing makes a pastor's wife rest - like a good last rehearsal for a major production! Tomorrow I will complete the video and technical projects for it and we are good to go.
Oh yes I forgot that today I am putting the last decorating finishing touches on our Mission House for a guest due to move in today. He suffered a serious fire in his home - almost a complete loss. So he will be living here for 4-6 months while it is rebuilt. Thank God for our Mission House! I need to do some touch up painting on the furniture and walls damaged.
Tomorrow other guests arrive and I would like to have many details done so I can enjoy being with them a little.
So as you can tell my mind is busy - so more later!
