Children's Ministry tonight was called The Hallelujah Night! Our Wednesday night teachers along with the Sunday teachers put together a presentation for Kidtricity tonight. And all ages were together for one big rally. There was lots of laughing and shouting and high energy along with a candy rain and loads of fun - all about learning to worship God.
One of the highlights for me was the puppet show. I watched the children set absolutely still during it - and saw again the power of puppets. This tool has so much potential to bless any children's ministry. They still have a tremendous draw for all ages.
Watching them perform I am reminded of the thousands of puppet shows my husband and I did as young traveling evangelists. We occasionally see men and women who sat under us in those days and they still mention the different characters that we had. Funny how some puppets become almost alive with their own personalities! 2 years ago I had a major sewing week with some seamstresses and we put together a set of 30 puppets for our church.
Now our boys and girls, men and women puppets are being used for the children ministry and it makes me happy to see it. I will have to introduce this fine community of stuffed happiness to you sometime. They are all unique with their own special look. It was fun making them!
An good teacher knows how to use every tool to make the lesson interesting and effective! We have a teacher's training monthly and the time spent pays off in well trained teachers. I look forward to spending time with them this month - getting ready for their big Christmas Pagent this year. The planning is underway and the details are being worked out now for a grand Play!
